DIY: Beach Sea Glass Name Cards

It’s July and nowhere is immune to this heat! Here in Kentucky, it currently feels like walking into a wall of humidity. What better way to beat the heat than to pretend I’m at the beach? I think I’m going to set up a table poolside and give my guests that breezy, beachy vibe. But even if you don’t have a pool, these simple name tags evoke the sounds of the sea.

I really like to collect pieces of sea glass whenever I can find them. Their beautiful blue and green tones have a calming effect on just about anyone. So I thought, what a great inspiration for a beach-themed table setting! These only take about ten minutes to make, especially for the avid crafter who will most likely already have most of the materials on hand. Enjoy!

I used a standard piece of plain cardstock. For this project I chose gouache, but you could also use watercolors or any type of paint. Blend your blues and greens in a smear on the paper and then allow to dry. I bought a simple tag punch at Micheals; just line it up where you want and punch out the piece.

I used a sharpie to write out everyone’s name; create a simple hole punch to tie the twine through and there you go. The result? A simple but fun way to beach up any table setting. Don’t they look amazing with Pomegranate’s Ficus Dance Jade print?!
